Every good cook knows that a clean, fresh oven is essential to great tasting food and a kitchen filled with delicious aromas! That's why Ovenclean is launching the "good food starts with a clean oven" campaign.

We are inviting everyone who loves cooking - and loves a clean oven - to send us their favourite recipe.The best recipes will be featured each month on this page - for all our customers to see.

Send us anything from starters, main courses and desserts to cakes, biscuits, pastries and snacks, and if you have a reason why this recipe is so special to you, we'd love to hear about it, so please let us know and we will include that too!

Green Pesto & Tomato Tarts

A light meal or wonderful 'starter' great tasting but easy to make.  Best eaten with a glass of crisp, dry white wine.

  • Serves: 6
  • Preparation time: 15 minutes
  • Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 500 g pack of puff pastry
  • 6 tsp green pesto
  • 4 sliced ripe vine tomatoes
  • 50 g grated parmesan cheese
  • Milk for glazing
  • Chopped herbs & pepper to season
  • Fresh rocket to serve
  1. Roll out pastry until thickness of a one pound coin.  Using a small plate or cutter cut out six 12 cm dia. circles of pastry.  Place on a well greased baking sheet and prick all over
  2. Brush pastry with milk.  Spread teaspoon of pesto into the centre of each round.  Top with slices of tomato, sprinkle over the cheese and season with ground black pepper and mixed herbs.  Chill for up to three hours or until ready to cook
  3. Pre-heat oven to 200C/180C Fan/Gas Mark 6.  Bake tarts for 15-20 minutes or until pastry crisp and golden
  4. Leave to cool for 5 minutes, serve with rocket
