Robert Wall and his wife decided to relocate to the North West in search of a brand-new lifestyle. Robert was looking for a better work-life balance, so in 2016 he quit his job as a milkman and invested in an Ovenclean franchise, which has given them far more freedom and flexibility for the past 6 months. 

“Being in charge of my own workload and having time off when I wanted it really appealed to me.” Robert had previously owned his own franchise during his time as a milkman, but this meant that he was extremely busy and worked 6 days a week. He was well-aware of the benefits of a franchise but wanted a career which he could fit around his own lifestyle, so Ovenclean was an ideal choice!”  

“I had researched other franchises but had confidence in the Ovenclean brand. I discussed the opportunity with other Ovenclean franchisees and the Head Office, which assured me that the proven business model would be a good earner if I followed it and worked hard.

“The Ovenclean support network are fantastic and really professional. Their support really puts you ahead of the game, rather than having to do it all yourself like if you open your own business.

“I received two weeks of on-the-job training with my business mentor and support over the phone from the franchise support team. My business mentor was a huge help and even came to help me with marketing, such as visiting estate agents and leafleting the area. The franchise support team were also always on the phone if I needed anything, and still are!” 

Robert loves being an Ovenclean franchisee, but he claims that he has faced a few challenges along the way, which is of course normal for any new franchisee:

“I was very anxious waiting for the leads to come through! It was hard at times in the first few months but now I’ve been trading for a year, I’m getting re-cleans as well as new business. I’ve averaged 9 to 10 jobs a week and sometimes more. I could do more if I wanted to, but am happy with this amount of work.” Ovenclean's proven business model is flexible and can be adapted to suit your chosen career aspirations. 

“I now have two days off a week whereas before I only had one, so this has been a real benefit to my work life balance. I work with my wife, where she does the admin and advertising so I can focus cleaning. This works well for us.”

So, all in all, Robert is thrilled with the way his business is going! His goals for the future are to continue building the business and work up a great client base with repeat business.
