Steen Mickelborg joined the network in 2017, and has grown to develop a very successful business with many repeat and referral customers. Not only that, but with Ovenclean he has also found a job he loves.

“I previously worked as an Account Manager for 30 years, but was looking for something completely different after taking voluntary redundancy. The option of running my own business had always been extremely appealing for me, but rather than starting from scratch, I wanted the support and guidance to help my launch and on-going business growth; and that’s when I started looking at franchises.

Although Steen was anxious about taking the plunge to invest in the franchise, he’s thrilled that he decided to invest in Ovenclean.

“My biggest reservation about becoming a franchisee was the financial relay, however every penny is well spent. I’ve promoted and grown my local business with the support of Head Office through leafleting, marketing campaigns, advertising in local magazines and social media. I also pride myself on my online reviews (5/5 Facebook and 10/10 Checkatrade).”

“I work hard to achieve a 10/10 service which is excellent value for money. This in turn means that a large majority of my new customers come from recommendations.”

When asked how the franchise has changed his life, and what he would like to achieve in the future, Steen told us, “I can truthfully say that the instant job satisfaction, interaction with customers and more positives have meant that this journey has been the best thing I have done for many, many years. I truly enjoy what I’m doing, and very much hope to have more vans on the road with a steady increase up to 5+ cars within the next couple of years.”

“My advice to new franchisees would be ‘prepare to work hard’. When you buy a franchise, you don’t buy a business – it’s a proven business model. The more work you put in – the higher the rewards.
