Top 10 Kitchen Storage Hacks for Small Spaces

Between breakfast, lunch and dinner you spend a lot of time in your kitchen, so if yours is on the small side we have some great small kitchen hacks and kitchen storage hacks which could hugely help you out!

To help save you time, money and kitchen storage, we’ve listed our top 10 kitchen hacks which we think will be invaluable to you!

  1. To keep any meat from being dry, pour some chicken broth over it after cooking. This will make it taste much juicier and revive a bird that tastes dry.

  2. When you’re cooking on multiple food stations, it’s often difficult to keep tabs on them all. To stop pans boiling over, place a wooden spoon across the top of the pan.

  3. To remove all the grime off your wooden cutting board, sprinkle some coarse salt onto the board and use half a lemon to scrub at it. Let it sit for 5 minutes, and then rinse it all off using warm water.

  4. When slicing that cake or dessert, use a hot knife. This will ensure that you are able to cut a perfect cake slice without it falling apart and looking messy.

  5. Use old jars to store cooking and eating utensils, then label them accordingly. This will help you become more organised and provide more storage space.

  6. Forgot to chill your drinks when guests are about to arrive? To chill drinks quickly, just wrap a damp paper towel around the bottle and pop it in the freezer for 5-10 minutes. Remember not to leave it in there any longer than 10 minutes though, as bottles could crack if they are left in freezing temperatures long periods of time.

  7. If you want a richer and creamier hot chocolate, then try melting supermarket truffles into some hot milk and stir.

  8. Turn some magazine holders on their sides for some more shelf-space for light objects.

  9. Peeling potatoes are one thing that many people cannot stand, but submerging them in hot water will make this chore far easier. Leave the potatoes in there for a few minutes and simply scrub, boil and then put them back into cold water.

  10. Need some more storage space? Why not hang your pots and pans from a ladder on the ceiling to create some more room. Saw the ladder down to your desired size, and use a few screw hooks, eye bolts, and a chain to hang it from the ceiling.
